A team of researchers and experts propose the Jean Monnet Module “Digital education in Albanian universities to provide high-quality life-long learning opportunities: an European approach”. Our goal is to apply new teaching methods following EU models and standards while offering new courses in-person and digital on-line learning. In line with the best European values, we believe that the didactic offer should enhance students critical thinking and empower them despite gender, race, economic situation, and ethnicity. The academic offer needs to promote values of collaboration and a strong sense of civic awareness. We are motivated to follow and implement EU values in an open and inclusive high education module as we think is essential to a transformative process which makes lifelong learning more attractive and create better opportunities for lifelong learners. The Albanian labour market has been very dynamic in recent years. On the other hand, the academic community is not aligned with the new skills requested by the updated labour market, creating a gap between the academic offer and the needed labour market skills. Following the guidelines of the European Employment Policy we aim to create a bridge between business, private sector, public sector and students at the Polytechnic University of Tirana (PUT). Our project will promote EU actions, engage young generation and researchers, gather the expertise and competences of high-level experts on EU best practices to digital education for lifelong learning opportunities in university curricula to achieve excellence. We will spread knowledge to PTU students on the European high education standards, digital transitions objectives, and the actual dynamics of the labour market. Our long-term goal is to actively contribute into bringing Europe closer to the students and the public in general. The module will include teaching and intensive courses , seminars, open forums and final workshop.
