The RAISE (Resilience and Innovation for Sustainable Education) project seeks to empower Vocational Education and Training (VET) centres in a third-country context to become sustainable models of excellence by focusing on educational practices, pedagogical innovation, and the effective management of learning spaces. The project targets two key groups: educators and training managers. It equips them with the competencies and resources needed to drive sustainability in their organisations. Through capacity-building activities, RAISE will support the development of innovative pedagogical approaches, including integrating cutting-edge technologies such as Extended Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance the teaching and learning experience. Educators will gain access to hands-on methodologies like living labs, fostering active, learner-centred, and experiential practices that promote sustainability. At the same time, the project will focus on transforming learning environments by providing training managers with pedagogical principles to design spaces that are eco-friendly and conducive to collaborative and engaging education. This includes redesigning training spaces with sustainability principles in mind and promoting interactive learning environments that reflect the needs of modern education. A key component of the project is the organisation of staff mobility programmes, allowing educators and training managers to visit leading sustainable VET centres in Europe. These exchanges will enable participants to observe best practices, engage in knowledge sharing, and develop actionable plans to adapt these strategies to their institutions. By the end of the three-year project, RAISE aims to deliver innovative educational resources to VET centres, and upgraded learning environments, all of which will contribute to the green transition in education and support the achievement of global sustainability goals.
